Liliana Lopez main vision for her books is to teach little girls to love and appreciate themselves just as they are. It is very important that we teach them this from a young age, before they start being bombarded with images from the internet, television, books, friends etc. Am I Pretty? teaches little girls to stop listening to the outside world and that they are perfect just as they are. Little girls also have the right to follow their dreams, whatever those may be! Melinda and the Unicorns teaches them that they can follow their dreams, even in the midst of adversity. Liliana has previously worked as a nanny to several little girls and learned firsthand what they loved to learn about and how much they thrived with positive words of encouragement.
